What is Steal an Egg?

Steal an Egg is a Roblox tycoon where you sneak up on sleeping guardians, grab one of their eggs and sprint back to your base before they wake up and drag you down. Every egg you get home hatches into a pet, every pet earns cash each second, and that cash buys the speed you need to rob the next, scarier biome. It went from zero to six-figure concurrent players within weeks of its July 2026 launch, and one admin event pulled in roughly seven million people at once.

The loop sounds simple. It isn't. A Chicken guards the first coop and a 50-billion-speed forest spirit guards the newest one, and there are eleven biomes in between. Eggs come in wildly different weights, and two copies of the same pet can be a thousand times apart in income. Other players will hit you with bats, lay traps on your path and steal the egg straight out of your hands. This Steal an Egg wiki exists to make that chaos readable.

How this Steal an Egg wiki is different

Most Steal an Egg pages online copy each other's numbers. We went the other way: every income figure in our pet database is a reading we saw on screen, with a clickable timestamp to the exact second of the video it came from. If a number came from a creator-panel test with an admin-sized egg, we label it so you don't plan your pen around a pet nobody can actually hatch.

A few things you'll only find here:

  • Measured mutation multipliers. We lined up the same egg with Silver, Golden, Scrambled and Rainbow and did the division. In the current version Golden lands near 2.5x and Rainbow near 3.5x, higher than the older 2x and 2.5x figures still floating around. The full table is on the mutations page.
  • A complete speed ladder. Every biome sign from the Forest (no requirement) to the Enchanted Forest (50B), plus what the sign doesn't tell you. It's a minimum, and a heavy egg will still get you caught. See biomes.
  • Calculators that use real data. The income calculator starts from actual pet readings, stacks mutations and passes, and tells you how long until you can afford that next treadmill. The speed planner shows how many minutes on the treadmill each biome will cost you.
  • Both languages. Everything is written in English and Chinese, not machine-translated, because a big part of the community plays in Chinese.

The Steal an Egg core loop in 60 seconds

  1. Steal. Walk into a biome while its guardian sleeps, pick up an egg and run. If the guardian catches you, you drop it. Night time ends stealing for a while, and at daybreak every egg resets.
  2. Hatch. Place the egg in your pen. Small eggs pop in seconds; divine eggs can take a full day unless you pay Robux or play through the night, when eggs grow faster.
  3. Earn. Pets in your pen generate money every second. Hit Equip Best often. Sell the junk.
  4. Train. Spend money on treadmill upgrades and trails. Run. Claim your index rewards, which give a surprising amount of speed early on.
  5. Repeat in a harder biome, with bigger eggs and rarer pets.

If that's all new to you, start with our beginner guide. It walks a fresh account from the Chicken coop to the Jungle in under an hour without spending Robux.

Rarities, from trash to divine

Pets run through Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Cosmic, Secret, Eternal and Divine, plus limited shop and event pets. The first biomes top out at Legendary or Cosmic. Secrets appear from the Jungle onward and the game announces them to the whole server. Eternals glow and take hours to hatch. Divines spawn in every server at the same time, which is why everyone suddenly sprints in the same direction when one appears.

The divines worth knowing right now are the Unicorn, Kitsune, Night Flame, Archangel, World Burner, Aetherion and the Royal Sky Whale. Fuse two Sky Whales with two Celestial Sun Lions and you get the Spirit World Guardian, the single strongest pet we have on record at $2.2 trillion per second with three mutations. Our tier list ranks all of them by real earning power, not looks.

What actually makes you rich in Steal an Egg

After watching dozens of runs, from fresh bacon-hair accounts to the number one player on the leaderboard, the same few habits keep showing up:

  • Size beats rarity. A 19-million-kg Gorilla King out-earned plenty of divines. Weight shows on the egg before you steal it, so check it first.
  • Mutations multiply everything. The #1 player hoarded mutation items while they were unavailable and applied them all when the next event dropped. Three mutations on one big egg is how pets break into the trillions.
  • Speed is the real currency. Money buys speed, speed opens biomes, biomes give better eggs. The cheapest speed early is the index, then the treadmill. Buying "1 billion speed" with Robux is the worst deal in the shop.
  • Play the events. Admin Abuse hands out 2x money, 2x egg size and 2x mutation boosts, plus free eternals in mini games. Dr. Scramble fights and rifts feed you boost items. Our events page lists what each one gives.
  • Bring a better weapon. The default bat barely moves anyone. Index rewards hand out stronger bats, the Titan Temple gives an axe, and the Hammer sends rivals flying when you're fighting over a divine.

Is the game pay-to-win?

Partly. Robux skip egg timers, buy speed multipliers up to x4,000 and open egg packs with 1% Strawberry Elephant odds. But a free-to-play account in one of our sources reached $2 billion per second, got its first eternal within half an hour and unlocked almost every biome without a single Robux, mostly by claiming index rewards and stealing smart. Our economy page breaks down which purchases are worth it and which are traps. The short version: 2x Money is a good buy, and paying 2,800 Robux for a billion speed is not.
