The first real money

The Lake is the second biome on the track and the first one with a speed sign: 900 speed. A fresh account usually gets there within ten minutes, mostly from Forest index rewards. It's guarded by a Swan that will hit you if you're careless, and it holds the first pet in Steal an Egg that changes your income by orders of magnitude, the Leviathan.

Some players call this area the swamp. It's the same place.

How the Swan behaves

The Swan is faster than the Chicken and more aggressive. She pecks players who linger near the nest. One free-to-play run grabbed a yellow egg and got hit before even turning around: "Bro, she hit me. Okay, I'll go away." Approach from the side, grab quickly and don't stand still in front of her.

With exactly 900 speed you can escape with most eggs. If you're short, take the smallest egg first. Small eggs don't slow you down much.

The Lake egg pool

  • Duckling: the common.
  • Swan and Catfish: uncommon. Players sometimes mistake the catfish for a koi.
  • Kissing Fish and Turtle: rare. Turtles earn about $40–55 a second early.
  • Lil Tricksterina: an epic brainrot that often shows up twice.
  • Axolotl: the Lake's legendary, about $2.3K a second.
  • Leviathan: the Lake's cosmic, the top pull. More on it below.

The Leviathan

The Leviathan is why the Lake matters. Readings we've seen:

Copy Income
Basic $220K/s
Big egg $488K/s
Scrambled $605K/s
Rainbow $770K/s

Compare that with the $2 Golden Chicken you started with: one Leviathan is worth more than every Forest pet combined, by a lot. A creator who'd never seen one before put it bluntly: "What the hell is even that?… 488,000 a second."

Big Leviathan eggs take up to 25 minutes to grow because of their size. Plant them before night falls and they'll be ready much sooner.

What to keep

  • Leviathan: keep until you have several secrets.
  • Axolotl: a solid early earner.
  • Everything else: index, then sell.

Lake index and your first bat

Completing the Lake index is your first real weapon upgrade. One free-to-play creator tracked it: "We only need three more indexes from the lake area until we can get our first bat. The normal bat's genuinely terrible." The index bat matters as soon as you start meeting other players in the Desert and Jungle.

Speed tips for the next biome

The Desert needs 10,000 speed, an 11x jump. Ways to get there quickly:

  • Claim every Lake index entry. Each new pet is speed.
  • Buy the $5K trail if you haven't.
  • Upgrade to the Cyber treadmill at $15K (10 speed per step).
  • Join the game's community group for +10,000 speed in one go. On its own, that clears the Desert sign.

Common Lake mistakes

  • Rushing to the Desert. The Lake's index rewards are what get you to 10,000 speed quickly. Skipping them makes the Desert slower, not faster.
  • Selling the Axolotl immediately. At about $2.3K it's one of your best early pets until the Desert.
  • Standing in front of the Swan. She pecks. Approach from the side.
