The eternal that's everywhere

The Gorilla King is the eternal of the Titan Temple, a hulking crowned gorilla, and probably the most commonly handed-out eternal in Steal an Egg. Developers spawn them during Admin Abuse, they're the prize for Red Light Green Light and Capture the Egg, and they turn up in normal Titan Temple nests. That makes the Gorilla King the classic "first big eternal" for a lot of accounts, and occasionally a monster.

Income readings

Copy Income
Average $125M
Admin-abuse egg $1.9B
Fractured + Scrambled $4.1B
2.5 million kg $7.7B
19 million kg ~$12B

The spread, from $125M to $12B, is the clearest example of egg weight in Steal an Egg. A creator who got "extremely lucky" with a 19 million kg Gorilla King went from a modest pen to $83B per second, then $95B after Equip Best, close enough to the leaderboard to start a whole video about reaching it: "We literally just need two more Gorilla King eggs like this, and we'd literally be on leaderboard."

How to get one

  1. Admin Abuse. Developers often spawn several at once ("two eternal Gorilla Kings, wait, are they big?"). Most are tiny, some are worth fighting for.
  2. Mini games. Red Light Green Light and Capture the Egg regularly offer Gorilla King eggs as the prize. "We got the world's first Gorilla King from the Red Light Green Light event."
  3. The Titan Temple. Regular nests at 7B speed. Big eggs need a lot more than the sign.

Fusing Gorilla Kings

Since they're so common, players end up with spares. The Fuse Machine takes three for a new egg with a random size. One player kept small ones "since we can always fuse". Remember most fuses come out smaller, so only fuse spares you'd otherwise sell. Never your big one.

Mutations

Gorilla Kings take mutations well and are often mutated because they're the biggest egg in a mid-game pen. In a 100-day series, a Gorilla egg got both Fractured and Scrambled ("I didn't even know I got two mutations on him") for $4.1B, at the time the creator's best pet. During Admin Abuse's 2x mutation boost, a natural roll is much more likely.

Where it sits

On average numbers the Gorilla King is mid-tier for an eternal. On ceiling, it's A tier, because it scales so hard with size, and because it's the eternal you're most likely to get for free. If you see a huge one in a mini game, it's worth more than many divines.

Tips

  • Check the weight before you fight for one in a mini game. The tiny ones aren't worth losing a better egg over.
  • Plant big ones at dusk. Their timers are long.
  • Don't sell duplicates until you've decided about fusing.
